Reasons why your 4X Hair Removal Laser doesn't work

9 reasons why your Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser doesn’t work

Did you know that your hair has to be in a specific growth stage in order for laser hair removal to work? There are several reasons why you could be seeing hair growth after using the Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X, and I will break down those reasons for you below! Scroll down a bit to watch the full video.

#1: Your body hair color is too light

The hair removal laser’s heat source is attracted to the pigment in the hair. The hair that you want to remove has to be dark enough for the laser to find your hair’s pigment and will work on light brown to black hair. Unfortunately, Blonde, red, white, and grey hair does not have enough pigment to attract the laser’s heat. If your device unlocks, but you do not feel the heat on level 5 treatments, your hair may be too light for the device.

#2: The laser’s treatment window is dirty

If your treatment window is not cleaned after every use, it can build up a film on the surface of oil, skin cells, or treatment gels. If your window has a build-up of gunk, the laser cannot effectively penetrate through the window. Use an alcohol wipe before every use to make sure the laser can sufficiently penetrate through the treatment window.

#3: Your treatment power level is too low

The Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X is effective at all treatment levels. The five settings (or three settings if you are using the Precision Laser) are five different levels of intensity. Using a lower intensity means that the treatment will work slower, but may be more comfortable to some users.

We recommend that you start at a low treatment level (1 or 2) and then increase by one treatment level at a time until you’ve reached the highest treatment level comfortable to you. The higher the treatment level, the faster the results.

#4: You are not overlapping your treatment pattern

By overlapping your pattern while treating with the laser, you are making sure to treat every hair, during every treatment. If you move the laser over an inch at a time, you are missing hairs during your treatments.

#5: You are not shaving before treatments

It is very important that you shave your treatment area the night before or a few hours before treating with the hair removal laser. Use a fresh razor to ensure the hair is flat on the surface of the skin. Do not wax or pluck the hairs, do not use an epilator or hair removal creams as the hair will not be flat at the surface of the skin.

#6: You’re skipping treatments

In order for laser hair removal to work, you need to treat at a specific hair growth cycle called Anagen, known as the growth phase. Each hair on your body is at a different growth stage, so it will take at least 6-8 treatments in order to catch all of the hairs in the Anagen phase. Since you do not know what cycle you’re in at the time of treatment, you will have to make sure not to skip ANY treatments. You have to treat your skin with your laser once every two weeks. Mark your calendars!

#7: You are not giving the hair removal process enough time

As I stated in #5, you will need to treat all of the hairs during the Anagen hair growth phase for laser hair removal to be effective. This process can take up to six months for some people. You will also need to be prepared do to touch-ups as some hairs may have been skipped during treatments. Some customers report to me that they see results after three treatments, and some say it takes 8-9 sessions. Patience is key!

#8: You may have biological factors that influence your results

If you have PCOS (in women only) or other hormonal imbalances, there is a chance that this is the reason why you are not seeing permanent results. We have many customers with PCOS that tell me that the 4X is a godsend in controlling facial hair, but it will not be permanent. Menopause can also cause a hormonal imbalance, and it is safe to treat during this stage in life, but we do not recommend our laser for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

#9: Your device needs troubleshooting

If you are seeing an error message or your device isn’t turning on, you will need to turn to page 21 in your Tria 4X manual for help. If the tips in the manual are not helping you troubleshoot your device, be sure to have your serial number ready (on the bottom of your device) and your order information.

If you’ve stored your device away for a long period of time, which we do NOT recommend, you may need to try the reset method to start up your device. Be sure to charge your device at least once every three months to avoid battery drainage. This method is not guaranteed to work, but it has worked fantastic for many customers.

To reset your device:

1. Plug your device in for 24 hours.
2. Take the cord, while leaving the device plugged in the wall, and plug it in and out 5 times in a row, without turning the device on.
3. After the 5th time turn on your device, then put it right back on the charger for 2 hours. After charging for 2 hours turn on the device and see if it works normally.

Boost your collagen

How to boost your collagen for youthful skin

If you are a frequent skincare consumer (or read beauty articles), you’ve without a doubt read that collagen is essential for maintaining a youthful appearance. You know it’s vital to your skin, and you especially know it is something you need in your anti-aging routine. But what is collagen, and how can you really boost it? Does consuming it make you look younger, or is it a buzzword used in beauty marketing? Let’s take a closer look at collagen and what modern tools are needed to keep it flowing.

Different types of collagen

To simplify collagen’s definition, it is a protein that creates structure all over your body, including the structure of your face, fingernails, and bones. It acts as a cement that glues together cells to create supportive strands. Although there are 28 types of collagen in our body, there are only five significant types of collagen that are the most crucial.

According to renewalliance.com, Type I Collagen is the most abundant in our body (over 90%) and stronger than steel by weight. It is found in our skin, hair, nails, muscle, joints, and organs.

Type II Collagen makes up movable joints.

Type III (the so-called ‘baby collagen’) is the second most abundant collagen in human tissue.

Type IV forms basal lamina, the epithelium-secreted layer of the basement membrane.

Type V is present in cell surfaces, hair and placenta.

Did you know that collagen was this important to your body as a whole? It is the key protein that creates beautiful and healthy-looking skin.

What happens to collagen as we age?Mature woman's skin

The bad news about collagen is that we lose it. When we turn about 25 years of age, our collagen production starts to put on the brakes a bit, then slows down dramatically after age 30. We lose about 1-2% of collagen each year after 30! You will inevitably compromise your collagen levels if you smoke cigarettes or get too much sun or pollution exposure.

When you start to see lines and wrinkles form on the face, your Type 1 and Type 5 collagen is starting to slow down in production. Usually, it is around this time when consumers begin to panic and buy every anti-aging cream on the market in hopes to reverse the damage. While the world isn’t going to end when you get crow’s feet, it may cause you to start to explore anti-aging options that are out on the market.

What can you do to boost collagen?

There are plenty of products on the market that claim to be the fountain of youth, but are you willing to go through expensive and exhaustive trials to find out? Here are two suggestions that combine natural collagen boosters along with some help from laser technology to help create firmer and more supple skin.

Zint Collagen

Supplements

One way many consumers get their daily dose of collagen is to consume it through supplements. This subject is controversial because there have not been many scientific studies done on the effects of consumed collagen yet. Studies that were conducted were performed on very small groups, although the results reported have so far been impressive.

A study done in 2014 of 69 women ages 35 to 55 found that those who consumed 2.5 or 5 grams of collagen every day for two months showed improved elasticity of the skin compared with the group that did not take the collagen.

According to WebMD.com, U.S. consumers were expected to spend $122 million on collagen products in 2018–30% up from 2017. As you can see from this example, collagen supplements and products are a seriously growing trend–but according to doctors, the quality of the supplement is important.

According to WebMD.com, you should choose a collagen supplement from a company that chooses their bones and tissues from cage-free, free-range, and antibiotic-free sources. They also suggest that you shop around for a trusted brand with a third-party label, like NSF or USP. WebMD also suggests that you stay clear of collagen supplements that contain probiotics, fiber, or other types of additives which could interact with the collagen and make it less effective.

OrganicAuthority.com has a nice top 10 collagen supplements list, where their choices were determined using sources like the FDA and the non-GMO Project.

Laser technology

Tria SmoothBeauty Laser

Today’s skin rejuvenating lasers, like Tria’s SmoothBeauty Laser for the face, are made to penetrate the surface of the skin using a non-ablative fractional laser that does not wound the skin as the stronger ablative laser does. This laser has several benefits that include stimulating collagen production to fade wrinkles and smooth out the texture and exfoliating the surface of the skin to help brighten dark areas and give the skin a healthy glow.

How non-ablative fractional lasers work: The laser’s heat promotes collagen production, which triggers the skin to tighten up. Thousands of tiny columns are created by the fractional laser to stimulate a healing response, resulting in less visible crepey-ness and wrinkles along with a smoother texture.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), non-ablative laser treatments cost about $1,031 per session in the medical office, and it will take several sessions for most people in order to see good results. Tria’s SmoothBeauty Laser for at-home use targets beams of light deep within the skin to stimulate collagen production the same way that professional laser treatments do. In other words, you’re getting the same technology, but for a fraction of the cost of one session of laser treatment. No trips to the clinic and everything is done on your schedule!

Apply the sunscreen!

One more tip that will help you save your precious collagen: Use SPF 30 or more. A majority of your collagen is lost through UV exposure, so make sure you find a good SPF moisturizer or sunblock that you can wear daily.

Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X Deluxe KitIf you are just interested in the hair removal laser itself, I highly recommend purchasing this device along with the Soothing Gel in the Hair Removal Laser 4X Deluxe Kit. The Soothing Gel is the perfect companion to the laser, as it pre-treats the skin before the laser session and helps keep the skin calm and cool during the treatment. I have done laser sessions without using the gel and I noticed a big difference in how the laser felt on my skin. I also use the gel after the treatment to give myself one final soothing touch. Since the gel is not available as a standalone product, your chance to buy it is only within the Deluxe Kit.

Tria just launched the Luxe Grey color of the laser, which makes the perfect gift for the men in your life! Keep in mind that the laser is approved safe for men to use from the neck down.

Tria SmoothBeauty Laser

Anti-aging skincare routine for crow’s feet, eye wrinkles

We all age differently–some of us see the first signs of aging around our mouth or eyes, and some of us seem to wake up suddenly with a face full of lines. I definitely started seeing my first signs of aging under my eyes when I turned 40, and I knew that the eye wrinkles cream I had been using for over 10 years wasn’t going to perform a miracle. I needed something more! When I discovered the SmoothBeauty Laser combined with good skincare products, I noticed those pesky lines that bothered me are now a thing of the past!

Let’s dive into this effective skincare routine that is customized just for those crow’s feet and the area under the eyes.

How does non-ablative laser work under the eyes and on crow’s feet?

Tria’s SmoothBeauty Laser uses non-ablative laser technology to help promote collagen production, which aids in smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles (yes, crow’s feet!) under the eyes. This laser device works by delivering a beam of light that promotes cellular renewal. The laser sensation does feel like a bit of heat, but it is not uncomfortable if you work your way up from level 1 to 3. I prefer to use my laser at night due to the redness that may occur after the treatment. I do treatments for 8 weeks (at least 5 days per week) and then take a 4-week break and do another 8 weeks (then repeat the process).

Within a 2-week period, I noticed the fine lines on the outside of my eye area were basically gone! The smoother area under my eye creates the perfect canvas for applying my concealer and powder, without creasing up or settling in the lines. With the help of the laser, the collagen production that results will fill in the lines and smooth out the area without the use of fillers or Botox, and without making appointments at a clinic.

Skincare routine

To calm redness and to relieve any dryness that may occur after laser treatments under the eyes and on the face, Tria has specially formulated skincare products to not only calm and soothe the skin, but to help you maintain your daily anti-aging routine.

Immediately following your nightly laser treatment, use a hyaluronic eye cream that will soothe redness and cool down the area before you sleep.

To really rake in the benefits of your laser, the use of our Nuvesse Tired Eyes, Puffiness and Dark Circles Regimen Kit will give your eyes an extra boost of anti-aging power if used once per week. This eye mask kit also contains a serum roller that you may use daily under your eye cream treatment. The eye masks contain vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and camellia seed oil significantly increase hydration brightening the look of dark circles and diminishing the look of fine lines and puffy eyes. These work great right before a special event and help concealer look smoother.

PCOS in women hair growth

PCOS and facial hair growth — can it be controlled with laser hair removal?

If you have PCOS like me, you’ve woken up and faced the mirror, only to discover some new facial hair growth on your chin. For women, this can be a moment never to forget, and honestly, quite horrifying. Most of the women that I know who’ve experienced hirsutism, excessive facial hair growth caused by excess male hormones, have resorted to shaving daily, which can be time-consuming, irritating to the skin, and just downright depressing.

WHAT CAUSES FACIAL HAIR GROWTH IN WOMEN?

Many women with facial hair growth have been diagnosed (or undiagnosed) with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome 1), which affects one out of ten women, according to womenshealth.gov. In short, women with PCOS can experience multiple bubble-like cysts that form on the surface of one or both ovaries. These cysts are eggs that are partially mature but do not release and remain in their follicles. The unfortunate result of this means that the egg cannot become fertilized, making PCOS one of the leading causes of infertility in women. Some of the other PCOS symptoms include infrequent or irregular periods, acne due to excess male hormones, and 50% will develop Type 2 Diabetes before the age of 40.

CAN YOU TREAT EXCESSIVE HAIR GROWTH WITH LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

The good news is that Tria Beauty’s line of hair removal lasers can help reduce hair growth in women with excess (or unwanted) hair. As we see in the video (posted below) that guest stars customer Amruta Ray from pcos_made_me_do_it on Instagram, she can control the excess hair growth on her chin area with regular use of the Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser. Amruta uses the laser once every two weeks on hair growth areas and has noticed a considerable difference in about five treatments or 2.5 months. Less hair on the chin has made Amruta very happy and more confident in her appearance!

The 4X laser targets the pigment in the hair follicle, just like professional lasers in a clinical setting. The disabled hair begins to fall out, leaving behind more touchable, softer skin. Over time, the laser permanently disables the hair follicles’ ability to regrow hair. It is important to note that women with PCOS will most likely not experience permanent hair loss with the laser due to the excess male hormones in the body. The laser can help manage the hair growth, and the facial areas will need to be treated on an ongoing basis.

PCOS AWARENESS MONTH IS IN SEPTEMBER

September is PCOS Awareness Month, and we would like to invite women that have had success with our Precision or 4X Laser to talk about your experiences on Instagram Live. Watch our video below to learn more about Amruta’s experience with laser hair removal.

50% of women go undiagnosed with PCOS, according to US News. If you experience any of the symptoms we mentioned above, consult your gynecologist to request testing.
