Kevin has spent his 20+ year business career working with and leading companies in every stage of development as both an operating executive and strategic advisor. Since 2001, he has focused his professional efforts at the intersection of healthcare and consumer industries. He brings a unique blend of traditional healthcare experience and commercial know-how selling directly to consumers and building global brands to TRIA Beauty. Prior to joining TRIA, Kevin was an executive with Sephora, part of Paris-based LVMH Group. Before that, he gained operating and business leadership experience with Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo and as CEO of venture capital backed e-retailer Tavolo, Inc.

As a management consultant with Hawk Hill Advisors, Kevin led consulting engagements focused on accelerating growth through new business innovation and commercializing disruptive new products and services with clients including Procter & Gamble, Chiquita, Motorola, Bare Escentuals and AT&T Wireless, among others.

Kevin received his bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and began his career as an Army infantry officer, commanding several Ranger platoons and serving in the US and abroad. Kevin is on the Board of Directors of TRIA Beauty, Inc. and Ventus Medical, Inc., and member of Young President’s Organization.

Dr. Grove co-founded TRIA Beauty along with Drs. Island and Weckwerth and Jon Pearson in 2003. Prior to TRIA Beauty, Dr. Grove served as co-founder and president of Star Medical Technologies where he helped create the company's flagship product line, LightSheer™, a dermatologic laser that has been considered the gold standard for office-based laser hair removal since its introduction in 1999. Star Medical was acquired by Coherent, Inc. in 1999 and became a part of Lumenis, Inc, in 2001.

Dr. Grove obtained his doctorate in laser applications and a Masters of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His education also includes a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Engineering Physics from Cornell University. Dr. Grove has served in executive management in the medical laser industry for over twenty years.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Grove is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and holds eight U.S. patents in the field of medical lasers and applications.

A proven leader, Dr. Island previously directed an engineering group of approximately 30 employees and developed seven models of the LightSheer™ laser for professional hair removal and the B-Clear UV phototherapy system. Since its inception, the LightSheer has generated more than $300 million in revenues, along with industry-leading reliability and design.

Dr. Island was also formerly Senior Director of Operations with Lumenis, the world's largest medical laser company, where he integrated global R&D, regulatory & quality, and product development processes leading to increased profit and efficiency. At Star Medical Technologies, he led the research and development of a novel laser-based imaging system for diagnosing skin burns.

Dr. Island received his Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University with an emphasis in laser diagnostics and fluid mechanics. Dr. Island has published multiple scientific papers, holds 4 U.S. patents and 11 applications, and is a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.

Before co-founding TRIA Beauty, Mark Weckwerth was head of research and development for the Aesthetic Business Unit of Lumenis, Inc. In this position, he managed a group of over 75 scientists, engineers, and technicians in both the U.S. and Israel, who were responsible for the design and development of laser and flashlamp-based medical devices intended for use by physicians for cosmetic dermatologic applications. In prior positions as Director of Research and Development with Coherent Star, Inc. and Star Medical Technologies, Inc., Dr. Weckwerth contributed to the design and development of the LightSheer Diode Laser System.

Dr. Weckwerth has co-founded or had early participation in several hi-tech startups including Focaltron, Inc., Wecktech Systems, Inc., and Star Medical Technologies, Inc. Additional companies Dr. Weckwerth has worked with include Sandia National Laboratories where he used MOCVD to grow InAlGaN, the material system used in blue LED's and lasers.

Dr. Weckwerth received fellowships from AT&T Bell Laboratories, the 3M Foundation and Eastman Kodak, holds eight U.S. patents, and has published numerous scientific papers. He graduated from Stanford University with a Masters and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, and with high honors from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor in Science in the same area of expertise.

Jon Pearson brings an international dimension to the TRIA Beauty team. Prior to co-founding TRIA Beauty, Jon was Executive Vice President, Asia Pacific Operations of Lumenis, Inc. where he had management responsibilities for the company's Asian operations. Under his management, Asia grew to $100 million in annual revenues with a team of 180 people, and two years running was Lumenis' most profitable sales territory with direct operations in both Japan and China. Prior to joining Lumenis, Jon served as Director, Asia Pacific for Coherent Medical Group, where he achieved nine consecutive quarters of revenue over plan, growing his region to be the highest international revenue and profit producing area for the medical division.

Jon holds a Masters degree in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management in Arizona, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington.

Beth brings more than just 20 years of expertise building some of the nation's most-admired brands, from Williams-Sonoma to Lean Cuisine—she's truly passionate about TRIA Beauty’s products, and how they can help women worldwide feel more beautiful and confident.

As leader of the TRIA Beauty Marketing team, Beth oversees all marketing and brand strategy for the company's eCommerce and retail efforts. Previously, she was Senior Vice President of high-end digital music server start-up, Olive Media, where she specialized in direct commerce, brand positioning, and customer acquisition in the U.S. And, as Senior Vice President of Direct Marketing and eCommerce at Williams-Sonoma, Inc., Beth supported all of the company’s brands, leading a team of 80 associates in developing the strategic plans, execution and analysis for all catalog mailings, e-mail, internet marketing, and more.

The mother of three boys, Beth enjoys an active life outside of TRIA Beauty with family and friends, on Bay Area beaches and mountain trails. She has a degree in Business Administration from James Madison University and an M.B.A. in Marketing from The Pennsylvania State University.

Dr. Parr brings 22 years of expertise as a senior pharmaceutical executive to her role as Vice President Clinical, Regulatory & Quality at TRIA Beauty.

Before joining TRIA Beauty in 2009, Dr. Parr led some of the most successful global clinical research programs and winning regulatory strategies at the nation's top pharmaceutical companies - including dermatology's revolutionary Botox®.

In addition to her work in dermatology, Dr. Parr has found success in developing Phase 1-4 clinical programs in the fields of neurotoxin science, cardiology, oncology, infectious diseases, and regenerative medicine in the United States, Europe, Asia, South America and South Africa.

Dr. Parr received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy at the University of Pittsburgh and her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has been a featured guest on NPR's BioTech Nation, the "Body Talk" columnist at Body Smart magazine, and an adjunct professor of pharmacology at Chatham College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Harvey Liu brings over 10 years of research and development experience in medical devices to the TRIA Beauty team. Prior to joining TRIA Beauty, Dr. Liu was a senior system engineer at Carl Zeiss Meditec, responsible for the non-invasive ophthalmic anterior chamber optical coherent tomography (OCT) product development. He also managed the engineering team and contributed to the development of several key cosmetic laser and UV treatment products including the LightSheer™, BClear™ and ReLume™ during his tenure at Star Medical, Coherent Medical, and Lumenis. Harvey holds a BS degree in electrical engineering from California Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. degree in semiconductor device research from Stanford University.

With over 18 years of experience in public accounting, management accounting, and consulting, Scott brings a wealth of knowledge and strong leadership to the TRIA Beauty Finance Team.

After graduating from San Jose State University in 1991, Scott began his career by holding accounting positions in the retail and service industry. Scott obtained his CMA certificate in 1995, and became Chapter President at The Institute of Management, Amador Valley, in 2002.

As Assistant Controller at Electro-Test Inc., an Emerson Electric (EMR) subsidiary, Scott led accounting operations that tripled in size through organic growth and acquisitions. Later, Scott became Senior Manager at Armanino McKenna LLP, a regional CPA and consulting firm, where he ran the consulting operations for an accounting ERP system. He joined TRIA Beauty in 2007 and is currently Vice President of Finance and Administration.

Armed with a MS in Computer Science from Louisiana State University, Sridhar possesses over 16 years as a dynamic leader, known for recruiting and motivating top-performing software teams, leading cross-functionally, and developing strong partnerships for technology leaders such as Microsoft, Washington Mutual, and Boeing.

An accomplished technologist and leader who applies a rare mix of technology depth, relationship skills, and business acumen to direct strategic enterprise software development, management and customer delivery. Sridhar's operational experience includes leading on-time and on-budget design and delivery of complex products, and managing large-scale technology projects and off-shore development teams in start-up and mature companies.

Prior to joining TRIA Beauty, Sridhar held the roles of a Senior Director of IT at Microsoft and First Vice President of Technology at WaMu reporting to the CIO. Sridhar was recognized as the "Executive of the Month" for IT Leadership by the prestigious Silicon India magazine and previously recognized for his outstanding knowledge and leadership by WaMu, with the receipt of the ACE Award, the highest performance award recognition in 2007, given to the top 1% of exceptional Senior Management.

Suresh grew up all over the world, including in Africa and India, and relocated to the U.S. in 1991 after graduating from Osmania University (India) with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a gold medal for ranking first in his class. At the University of California at Irvine, he earned an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Laser Techniques, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Clean Energy Technologies.

In his professional career, Suresh quickly moved from engineering into product management at Catalytica Energy Systems, where he received performance awards associated with commercialization of different products. He also obtained an M.B.A. from Walter Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, where he specialized in operations strategy, and served as a consultant at Pittiglio, Robin, Todd and McGrath (PRTM), a well-respected operations strategy consulting firm.

Suresh's passion for commercializing and managing products with a scientific slant to them ultimately led him to his current position at TRIA Beauty, where his responsibilities include the overseeing of all aspects of product supply, operations, and logistics. Suresh is APICS certified (Certified in Product and Inventory Management or CPIM).
